This guitar will be the ONLY Tyler guitar to feature this specific set of specs, pickups, control layout, pots, and switches—never to be repeated on any other model. We’ve designed it to honor the legacy of Jim Tyler, from his beginnings as a top guitar repairman and mod expert to the establishment of James Tyler Guitars. This guitar is for the true throwback customer who appreciates the romance of both its sound and its look.

The guitar is inspired by Dann Huff’s original 1964 modified Stratocaster, a pivotal instrument that helped shape his sound and career. For those of you who have been following the history of this guitar, you know the significance of its modifications, from the Floyd Rose installation to the Demeter preamp, and the parallel-wired pickups that became a hallmark of its tone.

We’ve recreated this guitar, paying homage to its past while recognizing it is not meant to define the future of Tyler guitars. Instead, it’s a limited edition designed to resonate with those who want to own a piece of that history. This model is all about capturing the essence of the 1980s Tyler sound, just like Dann’s, and won’t include the modern Tyler updates.
