A little more about these ’58 Reissues … This very special limited run of 1958 ES-335 guitars celebrates the debut of one of the most versatile, game-changing and prolific Gibsons ever made. The ES-335 was the world’s first semi-hollow guitar model, imagined by former Gibson President Ted McCarty who later called it his proudest contribution. It has been in continuous production since its debut with support from countless legendary artists including B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Larry Carlton and Warren Haynes.
Gibson Custom Shop is proud to present these limited edition 1958 ES-335 Reissues featuring big ’58 rounded neck profile and an unbound fingerboard – a feature found only on 1958 ES-335 models. Commemorating the inaugural ES-335, this special run is limited to 130 instruments each in celebration of Gibson’s 130th Anniversary. Included with each guitar is a brown Lifton™ hardshell case with pink lining and a custom certificate of authenticity. See one sheets attached.
These are a strong value, especially with the Murphy Lab finishes. If these were spec’d through the PSL program they’d be considerably more expensive.
