The true height of Martin’s guitar making prowess would be the D-45. These series of instrument’s were made starting in 1933 and were discontinued in 1942 before the resumption of production in the late 1960’s. This instrument is part of a limited edition series that Martin produced in 2012 for the Japan market of just 91 guitars. This is instrument is in excellent shape and condition with a beautiful mid-ranginess to it’s overall tonal character.
