The master luthiers at our ESP USA Shop in Southern California occasionally create special limited-edition versions of these masterfully-built instruments. That’s the case with the ESP USA TE-II Hardtail Koa. You’ll first notice its hand-selected, figured Hawaiian koa top, highlighted by a layer of walnut and paired with an African okoume wood body, offering the visual cues of mahogany but with a more comfortable weight for great playing feel. The combination of koa and its bright and focused sound with the richness and warmth of okoume creates an outstandingly balanced tone. The USA TE-II Hardtail Koa also features a smooth and comfortable quarter-sawn roasted maple neck, an ebony fingerboard with 22 extra-jumbo Jescar FW57110 frets, and a Hipshot hardtail with string-thru-body design for excellent stability and sustain. As part of our 2017 ESP USA Limited Edition offerings, the USA TE-II Hardtail Koa is one of the first guitars to feature Seymour Duncan’s Saturday Night Special Humbucker pickup set, with Alnico 4 magnets to deliver the desirable muscular, ‘70s “overbuilt”, yet clear tones you want.
