Perhaps some of the most famous amps from New Jersey (besides ours!) were the Linden Ampegs and the legendary Trainwreck amps made by Ken Fischer in Colonia, New Jersey. Ken Fischer was actually laughed at when he suggested a channel switching amp to owner Everett Hull at Ampeg! He eventually became legendary, by building a series of single channel non master volume amps under the Trainwreck name. Being from the N.Y., New Jersey area, I couldn’t help but see, hear and service my share of Trainwreck amps over the years. Although I’ve built a great reputation for channel switching amplifiers, I’ve never lost my love for a good grinding rock and roll amp. Give me a Les Paul, a couple of hot naked humbuckers, an AC/DC riff or two through a nice 412 cabinet and I can be quite the happy camper!(more) Train-45 |

Designed and tuned by Andy Fuchs in cooperation with metal guitarist Jack Frost (Seven Witches, Savatage, Bronx Casket Company) the FROST-100-1 has a simple-yet-effective feature set to the classic English JCM-800 style amplifier format. It features low and high gain inputs which provide a mild smoother distortion on the low gain input, and responsive high gain metal tones on the high gain input. An input pre-gain and output master volume provide additional control over the quantity and volume of overdrive. Classic passive tone controls for high, mid and low, and a presence control in the feedback loop of the power amp tailors high end response. A simple all tube effects loop features send and return jacks, a true bypass switch, as well as -20 or 0 db level for pedal or rack level effects. Representing a new direction for Fuchs Audio Technology, the Blackjack 21™ brings the high build quality and awesome tones people expect from Fuchs products to a new more affordable price range. The Blackjack 21™ is based on a dual 12AX7 preamp stage and a push-pull dual 6V6 fixed bias output stage. Unlike other amps in this price range, the Blackjack 21™ has a full compliment of extremely flexible tone controls. A liberal amount of clean headroom is available before the output stage begins distorting with a sweet yet cutting rock edge. Voiced like its siblings the Train 45™ and Lucky 7™, the Blackjack 21™ has a classic rock voice similar to a vintage Marshall or Trainwreck™ style amp, but with a more manageable power level. Based
on the highly successful Overdrive Supreme™ SLX, (favorably reviewed
in the February Guitar Player Magazine), the Triple Drive Supreme features
three footswitchable channels of clean, mean and scream. Available in
50,100 and 150 watt versions, the TDS features a dedicated chime filled “California
Clean Channel” with brite, deep, and rock/jazz switches, as well
as mid and gain boosts. It's second and third channels are based on our
successful Overdrive Supreme clean and mean channels. The amp is controlled
by a 6-way footswitch (included), which provides channel switching, as
well as independent control of mid and gain boosts for both channels.
An extra (separate) footswitch jack for the reverb is also available,
as is the artist footswitch option.
The amp features 4, 8 and 16 ohm outputs, a full-time all-tube

Fuchs cabinets are made from the finest premium hardwoods available. All corners are finger jointed and glued with the highest attention to detail. Many other amplifiers use fiberboard, or plywood cabinets, and cover them with heavy vinyl, which is glued to the cabinet. While this may be fine for most, we compare it to wrapping a fine acoustic guitar in a blanket. It simply sucks tone and will stop the cabinet from being able to breathe. Hardwoods (like those used in fine guitars) have a tone that is not hampered by these "tonal blankets". Our woods are sanded, sealed, and finished in a furniture grade catalyzed polyurethane finish. All products include a hand stitched naugahyde cover in standard black.(more) |
