The extra knob, which is the piezo volume knob.

There are 2 jacks "Magnetic/Stereo Output" and "Piezo/Mono Output"

The Mag/Stereo jack is the bottom jack. When used with a mono cable it provides a passive signal from the magnetic pickups only. When used with a stereo (TRS) cable, tip outputs passive magnetic signal while the ring outputs the buffered piezo signal.

The Piezo/Mono jack is the top jack. You only need to use a mono cable with this jack. When only this jack is connected a buffered and mixed combination of the magnetic and piezo signals is produced. When both jacks are used this output will produced the buffered piezo signal only (the magnetic signal is diverted to the other jack: "Magnetic/Stereo Output").
