Fender 1963 Limited Edition Heavy Relic Telecaster Black - Preowned

Get her while she's hot!!! Only 100 made!!!

The looks and feel of a real vintage 1963 Tele. Even up close it looks like a '63 Tele. And then you pick it up and darned if the 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic LTD doesn't actually feel like a guitar from 1963 that was played hard for over 40 years.
That's the magic that the craftsmen (and women) of today's Fender have put into this Limited Edition guitar. Leo would be so proud! Fender 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic LTD at a Glance:

  • Two-piece alder body with nitrocellulose lacquer finish, white binding and three-ply parchment pickguard
  • Two Vintage '63 Tele single coil pickups with modern wiring circuit
  • One-piece "C" shape maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot position inlays
Alder Body with "Relic" Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish This 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic LTD comes with a two-piece alder body with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Once the finish has been applied, Fender craftsmen work their magic by adding just the right amount of natural wear and tear you'd expect on a guitar that has been played in hot, smoky clubs for over 40 years: Nicks, scratches, dings, worn finish rusty hardware and aged plastic parts. A three-ply parchment pickguard completes the vintage look. This guitar has the white body binding on the top and back that matches exactly what Fender would have used back in 1963. So real, it's almost spooky! The Trademark Tele Sound The original Telecaster had lots of top end thanks to the hand wound single coil pickups and the 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic LTD duplicates that trademark sound with a matched set of Vintage '63 single coil pickups, plus the extra "twang" you get with the original vintage style Tele bridge with three threaded steel saddles and that weird (but cool) "ash tray" bridge cover that most people yanked off and usually (ahem) "misplaced" after a few dozen gigs. Fast Playing "C" Shape Maple Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard Leo Fender wasn't afraid to "think outside the box" when it came to guitar designs - after all, he was an engineer, not a guitar player. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blond natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. This Limited Edition Tele carries on the tradition with a fast-playing one-piece maple neck, but with the rosewood fingerboard most often seen on the '63 Tele Customs. Since this is a "1963 Tele," it has the authentic '60s lightly tinted, nitrocellulose lacquer finish and that trademark Telecaster headstock. Fender 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic LTD Features:
