THE HOTTEST OF ALL CATS: The HOT CAT 30 WATT is available in a 1x12" or 2x10" cabinet or as a standalone Head. With one input labeled CLEAN and one input labeled HI-GAIN, the single channel HOT CAT can replicate 2 channel performance play by using an A/B or A/B/Y foot pedal switch. The concept and function of the HOT CAT is new, unique, and unlike any model ever designed by Mark Sampson. For what amounts to a medium price all Class A amp, the HOT CAT offers a wide range of sounds from CLEAN to controllable and unusually fat HI-GAIN. | THE NEW HI-GAIN CLASS A STANDARD: The 12AX7 based preamp affords some overdrive loading if desired via the CLEAN input tap as well as sweep control of the clearly emphasized overdrive employed with the alternate HI-GAIN input tap. Control knobs include: CLEAN VOL, GAIN, EDGE, LEVEL, BASS, TREBLE, BRILLIANCE, MASTER VOL. Overdrive and general tone character can range from smooth to a controllable edge with more punch. Sound is shaped both with panel controls and via selecting either tube rectification or the included solid state rectifier circuit, (30 and 100 watt only) with the latter SS position favoring a harder edge, less compression, and more sustain. In brief, (a) the degree of overdrive content (b) overdrive edge (c) compression and (d) attack / decay envelope are easy to tailor to taste. Finally, even the rectifier tube circuit will accept 3 different types of tubes; each exhibiting slightly different response characteristics. The power section uses dual EL34 tubes to support continuous, very thick overdrive speaker power and a strong reserve of clean headroom. In contrast to other Class A models to date, as regards extraordinary sound possibilities, the HOT CAT runs appreciably ahead of the pack. | ||||||||||||||||

TONE CAT Channel one uses EL-84’s to attain that exceptional sparkling clean sound that Bad Cat amps are famous for. EL-34’s are used in channel two producing moderate break-up to heavy saturated gain with massive bottom end maintaining its dialed-in sound even at lower volumes. The channel switching itself is unique in that it does not rob the signal from your amp. It also allows not only switching between the two channels but a mix of both channels providing more interesting tonal possibilities. Once in the mix position switching between the 84’s and 34’s allows the tone to be shaped even further. No OTHER Class A guitar amplifier even comes close to the Tone Cat. |

A Bad Cat CUB II can fill the bill in any playing application. With or without reverb, some player's would not be caught without at least one Class A, 15 watter, in their arsenal. And, particular players prefer to cover most of their gigs solely with a highest quality 15 pumping pure Class A.

Play
it live in small venues or mic it and run it through the P.A. One of the
best amps for versatile studio work. In either of the available 2x10"
or 1x12" cabinet formats, the smaller dimensions of the cab itself
create an individual sonic character in a CUB that offers several appreciable
benefits. These acoustic properties are quite different from those of speakers
baffled in larger cabs. The CUB sings cleanly and overdrive tones break
very smooth; the smaller baffle synergizes all this. You can obtain warm
and deep tone loading at lesser sound output volumes.
The 1x12" produces a tighter, focused sound shaft; not too dissimilar from the beam of a large flashlight. Punch is more noticeable. If you place your amp behind you in a live application, and tilt it slightly back, you will achieve best monitoring of your own sound. 2x10" and 1x12" actually produce about the same audio frequency spectrum; all the original sonic information is there. Though, with a 12, the first orders of bass are emphasized a bit more. CUB is available with or without spring reverb. Single Channel all 12AX7 preamp and dual EL84 amp section. Tube rectifier. Active tone controls attain very complex shaping architecture. Volume, Bass, Treble, Defeatable Master Volume, Cut, Tone Bypass Switch and Reverb on CUB Reverb. |

Bad Cat has released a small little channel switching amp at 7.5 W. Very basic but full of testosterone. The clean channel is just a volume knob, the 2nd channel has Gain, Bass, and Treble and a Master Volume controlled the overall volume. This amp in channel two just rips, really putting out a cranked out high gain sound. |
